OUR SERVICES:
Gas Management
At Peregrine, we protect the quality of every bottle using state-of-the-art technology. By integrating KH Tec Gas Management directly into our mobile bottling process, we provide an unparalleled level of precision that elevates wine quality to new heights.
We are the exclusive mobile bottling provider of these services to wineries and cideries. Our system is available as an integrated module with our bottling line or as a stand-alone service for tanker unloading and existing cellar transfers.
Our specialized setup precisely adjusts dissolved CO2, DO, and N2 levels for a variety of applications:
-
Tanker Unloading: Real-time gas adjustment during bulk transfers.
-
Filtration Integration: Seamless gas management directly following crossflow filtration.
-
Still Wine Optimization: Fine-tuning gas levels during the bottling process for better mouthfeel and shelf stability.
-
Inline Carbonation: High-precision, small-bubble carbonation of wine from non-pressurized tanks (up to 11 g/l of CO2) during bottling.
How Our Gas Management Works
Peregrine combines Bottling and Gas Management to enhance wine quality, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. By integrating these services, we eliminate the need for double-handling, providing a streamlined path from tank to bottle.
Our German-engineered KH Tec System utilizes 3M Liqui-Cel hydrophobic membranes and proprietary software to simultaneously adjust CO2, DO, and N2. Positioned between your tank and our filler, the unit manages all gas levels in a single pass as the wine flows through.
With this unique setup, we can adjust and/or carbonize still wine coming from a non-pressurized tank on its way to our counter-pressure filler. The KH TEC Gas Management skid, i.e., can safely carbonize at 55-58 ºF, which prevents condensation of the bottle. This enables us to safely apply your pressure-sensitive (PS) label right after filling and screw capping saving significant costs from, otherwise, double-handling of product.

Your Benefits
-
Superior Wine Quality: Optimize still and sparkling wines through “sweet spotting” with on-the-fly CO2 adjustments and simultaneous reduction of DO and N2 in a single pass.
-
Inline Carbonation: High-precision carbonization (up to 11 g/l) directly from non-pressurized tanks.
-
Significant Cost & Energy Savings: Avoid the high costs of chilling or warming wine; our system carbonizes effectively at room temperature.
-
Enhanced Operational Efficiency:
-
Reduced Handling: Eliminates traditional wine preparation steps and the need for double-handling during labeling.
-
Time Savings: Perform inline DO removal immediately after crossflow filtration or adjust gas levels during tanker unloading.
-
-
Advanced Labeling Protection: Processing at ambient temperatures prevents bottle condensation, ensuring secure application of pressure-sensitive (PS) labels.
“Thomas and his crew have an attention for detail. There is good communication during the whole process, from scheduling to every aspect on the truck and setup. The staff is great to work with and helpful throughout the full process of bottling.”

“I met Thomas Jordan a few years after Peregrine Mobile Bottling was established, and they’ve been my mobile bottling line of choice ever since. Thomas’s background as a mechanical engineer and his decision to use top-flight, state-of-the-art bottling equipment were key factors in my decision to work with Peregrine. Thomas knows the equipment intimately and is meticulous about avoiding problems.
Bottling always makes me nervous because we’re so reliant on mechanical systems to operate perfectly in order to preserve the quality of wines into which we’ve invested so much time, effort, and resources. I’m confident working with Peregrine because I know the equipment is carefully maintained and the team is fully committed to delivering a high-quality bottling experience.
Beyond the bottling service, Peregrine has been a versatile partner for us - handling everything from tent rentals for our projects to hauling empty bins - which has made them an invaluable extension of our operations.”
